Construction & trades
Fewer missed quotes. Less double entry.
Tradies and builders lose work when a quote form quietly stops sending. We fix that, then cut down the retyping between your website and your job software.
The problem
A trade business website has one main job: get enquiries in with enough detail to quote. Too often the quote form sends to an old inbox, lands in spam, or asks for so little that every lead needs a phone call back. Photo uploads time out on a site connection.
Then the details get typed again into the job management tool, and again into the invoice. Where your software allows it, a small integration can put the enquiry straight in as a job or lead. We keep it simple and make sure it fails loudly, not silently.
What we watch for
- Form delivery: enquiries should reach a real person, with a fallback if email fails
- Large photo uploads from phones on slow mobile connections
- Licence numbers and insurance details being shown correctly — you supply them, we display them
- Duplicate jobs or contacts when a form writes into job management software
- Peak seasons and storm periods, when enquiry volume jumps and nothing should break

Construction & trades / Straight answers
Before you ask.
How much does a tradie website cost to fix or build in Australia?
A defined fix on a tradie website, such as a quote form that stopped sending, usually costs $250 to $1,200 AUD. Connecting enquiries to job software like ServiceM8 or Tradify typically runs $600 to $3,500, depending on what the platform allows. A landing page starts from $900, and a small trade site of up to five pages is typically $2,500 to $4,000, built in 2 to 4 weeks depending on how ready your content is. Every job is quoted at a fixed price before work starts, with no monthly retainer attached.
Why is my website quote form not sending enquiries?
Most often the form still works, but the email goes to an old inbox, lands in spam or gets rejected because the site isn’t set up to send mail properly. Other causes are a plugin broken by an update, a spam filter blocking real people, or a required field that fails on phones. We trace where submissions go, fix delivery with a proper sending service where needed, and add a backup such as saving entries on the site, so a failure gets noticed instead of quietly costing you jobs. Most fixes take 1 to 5 business days.
Can my website create jobs in ServiceM8 or Tradify automatically?
Often, yes, where the platform offers API access or a supported connector. ServiceM8, Tradify, simPRO and Fergus each handle this differently, and what’s available can depend on your plan. We check what your account allows before quoting, then map form fields to a lead or job, avoid creating duplicate clients, and alert you if a submission fails to come through. If it isn’t possible with your setup, we say so and suggest the next best option, such as a tidy structured email. Integrations usually take 3 to 10 business days once access is confirmed.
How do I let customers upload photos with a quote request on my trade website?
Use a quote form that accepts photos and resizes or limits them, so uploads still work on a weak mobile signal. Full-size phone photos are the usual reason these forms time out. We set sensible limits, show upload progress and ask for what you need to quote in one go: job type, suburb, access notes and timing. Photos go to you, or into your job software where it supports attachments, rather than clogging up email. We test the form on real phones, because that’s where most customers fill it in.
How do tradies get found on Google in their local area?
Mostly through a complete Google Business Profile, steady reviews and a website that clearly says what you do and where. On the site, that means a page for each main service, genuine service area pages for suburbs you actually cover, licence details, and the same name, address and phone number everywhere. We add schema such as Plumber, Electrician or GeneralContractor where it fits, fix titles and page speed, and avoid dozens of thin copy-paste suburb pages. Nobody can promise rankings. Technical SEO audits start from $600, with fixes usually done in 1 to 2 weeks.
Will ChatGPT recommend my trade business when someone asks for a local plumber or builder?
There’s no way to guarantee it, but you can make your business easier for AI assistants to find and describe accurately. ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google’s AI answers draw on public sources: your website, Google Business Profile, reviews and directories. Plain-text pages listing your services, the suburbs you cover, and your licence and insurance details give them something solid to work from. Matching details across every listing helps too. We can audit and fix the website side. We don’t sell AI ranking packages.
What do I legally need on my trade business website in Australia?
It depends on your trade and state, so confirm the specifics with your industry association or adviser. Several states have rules about showing licence numbers in advertising, which can include websites. If your forms collect personal details, a clear privacy policy is good practice, and the Privacy Act may apply depending on your business. Marketing emails and SMS fall under the Spam Act, which requires consent and a way to unsubscribe. Prices and claims fall under Australian Consumer Law. You supply the licence details and policy wording; we display them correctly.
Can customers pay a deposit or call-out fee on my trade website?
Yes, using a payment provider such as Stripe or Square, with the money going straight to your account, not ours. It can be a fixed call-out fee, a deposit tied to a booked time slot, or a payment link sent with a quote. If your job software or Xero already handles invoices and payments, we may suggest using that rather than adding another system. We test the full flow on mobile, including receipts and refunds, before it goes live. Most payment and integration jobs land between $600 and $3,500.
Do you need my job software or website login?
No. Never send passwords. Where an integration needs access, you create an API key or invite us as a user once the job is agreed, and you can revoke it as soon as we finish. Your domain, hosting, Google Business Profile and job software all stay in your name, and the work lives in your accounts, so you own it outright. If you change developers later, nothing is locked up with us.
Should I fix my old trade website or get a new one?
Fix it if the site still works, you can edit it, and the main problems are a broken form, slow pages or a poor mobile layout. That’s usually a few hundred dollars and a few days of work. A rebuild makes sense when the site is on a platform nobody can access, can’t be made to work properly on phones, or breaks with every change. We’ll tell you honestly which it is. We don’t do logo design, Google Ads management, ongoing SEO retainers or large multi-site portals; those are outside what we do or bigger than us.
